Project

Mechanical, plumbing and electrical work on Government data center

Client

CFCU

capitol building

The CFCU is a financial institution that serves employees of the House as well as over 100 other corporate partners and associations.

GMS was responsible for the mechanical, plumbing and electrical installation and commissioning of the critical infrastructure associated with the data centers. The project included the installation of a new back-up generator located outside of the building which was linked to an automatic transfer switch (ATS) to ensure safe switching from utility to emergency generator power. The design also called for the provision of new computer room air-conditioner (CRAC) units which necessitated installing new refrigerant lines, oil traps, drain piping, sprinkler modifications and new air ducts.

Once the installation was complete, GMS was responsible for the load bank testing and commissioning of the final solution to ensure everything was working correctly and installed to code.
